DropCare® Sal-Phytos is a novel sphingosine derivative with unique anti-aging properties, which is prepared by the reaction of phytosphingosine and salicylic acid. It shows many features that fight the signs of aging on different levels of the skin.
Due to its ceramide properties, it acts on the stratum corneum by inducing lipid synthesis and keratinocyte differentiation, thereby strengthening the skin barrier. Moreover, phytosphingosine has anti-inflammatory effects, especially in photoaged skin. Salicylylphytosphingosine has been shown to stimulate the synthesis of procollagen and fibrillar protein, reduce the expression of MMP-1 in photodamaged skin, and repair the damaged skin after sun exposure.
