Ascorbic acid, or vitamin C, is an important component of human cells.

Because the body cannot make VC on its own, it must obtain this essential nutrient through food and some supplements.

Vitamin C inhibits tyrosinase activity, but it is unstable and easily oxidizes when exposed to air or light. Its skin whitening effect is primarily achieved in two ways.

The color of melanin is determined by the quinone structure of the melanin molecule, and vitamin C has the properties of a reducing agent.

Quinone structures can be reduced to phenol structures.

Ø Vitamin C is involved in tyrosine metabolism in the body and reduces the conversion of tyrosine into melanin.

DropBrigt^® AA2G (ascorbyl glucoside) is a stable derivative of vitamin C, the main structural feature of which is the addition of a glucose group to VC.

It protects the 2-hydroxyl group of VC, which makes VC susceptible to oxidation, and releases VC during use, providing a whitening effect.
